21 Month Update

This month has just flown by! We have been keeping busy chasing Brody around. Brody is talking a lot more and understands so much. We are just amazed at how fast he is growing! He absolutely loves his new babysitter and is having fun playing outside daily there and at home.

Brody's latest obsession continues to revolve around trains. He has discovered Thomas the Train and we are now recording those shows on the DVR. Brody is all boy and loves making the sounds to accompany his trains and cars that he drives around the house. Enjoy the latest pictures!

He loves to play with pillows.

20 Month Update!

It has been so long since I have posted. We have been super busy this last month. We spent the last few weeks prepping our house for the market. We painted the kitchen cabinets, put in a new kitchen floor, landscaped, put in a new garage door opener, painted the bathroom, fixed our front porch bricks, and deep cleaned the whole house. Our parents came out to help us one weekend, and Brody was a trooper through the whole few weeks.

We are going to sell our house and hopefully take advantage of someone who qualifies for the first time home buyer tax credit. We had considered selling our house at the beginning of the summer to move to Bellevue, but decided that since we had daycare in Glenwood that we were happy with, we weren't going to sell. Since we don't have daycare in Glenwood anymore, we are hopefully going to move soon now. We just wish we would have known in May that we were going to have to switch daycare providers. It would have made our lives a lot easier, and saved us a ton of money.

Brody started new daycare in Bellevue at the beginning of August. We could not be happier with our new setting! BC is wonderful with Brody and he is loving playing with the other kids. Plus, I am loving having Brody in Bellevue with me. It makes it a lot easier knowing that he is 5 minutes away. Brody has also come to my classroom to play a couple of times while I finish up work after school. He absolutely loves it!

Anyway, back to Brody. He has adjusted to me going back to work pretty well, except for the whole sleeping thing. For some reason, he thinks that getting up at 5:30 in the morning is okay. We are working on getting him to sleep 10 hours at night again. He was sleeping 10-11 hours during the summer, but senses that I am up and wakes up earlier now.

Brody has become quite the little man. He loves trains and there is a track on a hill about five miles away that we can see from our house. Whenever he hears the train, we have to run outside and watch it. We took Brody to the zoo this weekend and he rode the train for the first time. He loved it! Brody also loves coloring and writing with a pen. He says "d", "r" while he writes or colors. He is trying to spell his name, but says "d" instead of "b". He gets to BRO, and then stops. He also helps me count to three.

He is all boy and loves to play. His latest game is running back and forth on our new hardwood floor in the kitchen. I think he loves the sound it makes. He still loves watching Yo Gabba Gabba and now likes Blue's Clues as well. Brody loves to run and pretty much runs everywhere now. He helps put laundry away and loves to throw things in the trash for us.

We had a really busy summer and last few weeks and have been enjoying our last couple of weekends with no home improvement projects to do. Brody has had a little bit of a cold/allergies the last few days and he is also getting 4 teeth all at once. Wow, I have written a lot! Now for the pictures! Brody doesn't like getting his picture taken, but we try our best!

19 Months

Brody is 19 months old today! The biggest news I have to report is that we've finally given up the pacifier! Brody went to sleep last Sunday night without it, and we haven't looked back since. I am very proud of him! He has wanted to read his Bye Bye Pacifier book a little more often since it's gone. Now when we read it, he just laughs.

We are enjoying the last few weeks of summer. We've been staying busy by going to my district's early childhood center to play and read. We are also planning another trip to the zoo and the Childrens' Museum before I go back to work on August 7th officially. I'll be back that whole first week of August to set up my room. Enjoy the latest pictures!

19 Months old today:)!

Our attempt to get a picture of him. He shakes his head "no" when we try to take his picture.

Brody's first mule ride!

What a big boy! He didn't like it at first and said "all done" when we started up the road. By the end of the trip, he was enjoying himself.

Don't let go!

Having a snack after a 10 minute swim.

Swinging at the park.

Riding the merry-go-round with Grandma.

Paddle Boating

We went to Ryan and Jackie's house for a surprise 30th birthday party for Ryan. They live on a lake and we took Brody paddleboating Friday night. It was so fun! He loved the water, although it was hard to peddle with a 22 pound child on my lap:).

In the paddle boat with Daddy.

Enjoying the ride with Mommy.

Preparing for my second ever paddle boat ride:).

Fun in the Sun!

We have been enjoying our summer, although we have been super busy this July. Brody loves his backyard pool. It has a sprinkler attachment in the turtle's head, and that has become Brody's favorite part of swimming. Travis and I were both soaked after taking turns running him through the freezing cold sprinkler. He didn't mind at all. He wanted more!

Superman flying through the sprinkler.

The hose is a fun toy too!

Brody loves to play with the hose attachment.

Our little football coach. Brody playing the Xbox with the controller and head set. Travis said he looked like a football coach with his head set and collared shirt:).

My second dinner. Brody is enjoying pasta salad, especially the tomatoes. In this picture, he just stole a tomato from Travis's plate and ate it whole! It was hilarious watching the juice and seeds shoot out of his mouth.

Brody dragged his leapfrog learning table out of his bedroom, carried it down the hall, and then problem solved how to get it through the gate.

Here is Brody trying to get his table through the gate. He eventually figured out that he could walk backwards through the gate and get the table through. What a smart little man!

4th of July

We spent the Fourth of July weekend at home. It was so chilly we were sad that we couldn't get into the pool until Sunday afternoon. Brody loved the water and had fun floating around the pool. He also loved the fireworks!

Swimming in the pool...finally! What a cold Fourth of July weekend!

I tried very hard to get a decent picture of Brody on the 4th. Easier said than done:).

Brody walking the cat on Chyna's leash. He did this for about 20 minutes straight! Around the house again and again!

Practicing my putting skills with Daddy.

Walking the kitty. Poor kitty!
