New Pictures

Brody, Grandma, and Mom spent a Sunday afternoon at the Omaha Zoo. Brody loves the aquarium and the rainforest. Brody has been to the zoo now three times. He loves it!

Caesar has become Brody's protector lately. He is never very far away from Brody and likes to sit as close to him as he can get.

Trying out my new sippy cup for the first time!
He has never really liked the bottle, so this is exciting.
Brody would rather use his sippy cup without the spill-proof valve.
He doesn't like to work to get a drink:).

Happy birthday Mama!!

6 Month Update!

Brody celebrated his 6 month birthday on the 21st. We can't believe how fast the time has gone! Brody had his 6 month check up today. We have a tall, skinny boy. He weighs 15 lbs. 4 oz. (20th percentile). He's 26 1/2 in. long (75th percentile). Brody is doing well and is getting his first tooth! It hasn't poked through yet, but it has made an appearance close to the surface. Brody is enjoying his cereal, fruits, and vegetables. We have tried carrots, green beans, and pears. He did not like the pears, but we'll try again soon. Some of his favorite things include: mirrors, cell phones, remotes, ceiling fans, his jumperoo, and monkeys. He can now sit on his own! He enjoys grabbing anything mom and dad are holding. He also likes to observe his surroundings.

Brody slept through the fireworks during Opening Ceremonies at the College World Series.

Brody's first CWS game. We made it through 5 innings. Longer than we thought we would.

A happy boy at the baseball game.

Getting sleepy at the CWS.

5 Month Update!!

Brody is now 5 months old! We can't believe how fast the time has gone. Brody is growing so fast. He has really started filling out since we started cereal a few weeks ago. He now talks constantly, especially early in the morning. He is also getting good use out of his jumperoo now. He loves those monkey sounds! Brody now rolls over from his tummy to his back. He also rolls to his side while on his back. He loves to play with his hands and feet. Everything he touches usually ends up getting chewed on. Burp cloths seem to be his favorite toy of the moment.

Mom and Brody are enjoying their first week of summer vacation together. We went to a Mommy and Me movie this week, but I had more fun listening to Brody talk during the movie. We also went scrapbooking at Rebecca's house. Not much scrapbooking was done as I figured. We also went to dad's softball game on Wednesday night. Brody slept through most of the game. He sleeps well at night, but still gets up once for a feeding. We are still working on taking longer naps during the day.

Happy Mother's Day Mom!

4 Month Update

Brody is now 4 months old! We had his 4 month check up on Thursday. Brody weighs 13.9 lbs. and is 25 1/4 inches long. He's in the 25th-50th percentile for weight and the 50th-75th percentile for height. He is a happier baby now and only cries hard when he is overly tired. He has been talking a lot more lately, especially early in the morning. He also likes to grab and play with his toys. We are working on rolling over, but he hates tummy time, so we'll keep practicing.

He is doing better at daycare. We switched bottles and that helped tremendously. Now if only we could get him to take longer naps during the day. He is famous for 20 minute catnaps. He sleeps well at night. He goes to bed around 9 p.m., then wakes up between 2-4 for a quick feeding. He then goes back to sleep until 6:30 a.m. Mom has three more weeks of school until summer.

Cheering on the Cubs on my 4 month birthday.

My Hawkeye pants fit now!!

I love to be naked and eat my towel!

A rare occasion. No screaming during tummy time today.

I'm still a little too small for my jumperoo, but I love the monkey sounds!

Update!

We survived mom's first week back to work. Brody is still adjusting to daycare and our new schedule. Hopefully, it will be better after another week.
