My new toy

Brody's grandpa was in Atlantic and Red Oak on Tuesday and decided to make a detour to come visit Brody today.  We met up with him at the grocery store, and it was so cute to see Brody recognize his grandpa at the store.

Grandpa bought Brody a new toy and I just had to share it.  Brody loves pushing the buttons on his new tractor and wagon.  He's going to be riding it like a champ when he gets a little taller!

15 Month Check

Brody had his 15 month check up today.  He is a little small in weight still...19 1/2 lbs., which doesn't even register on the percentile scale.  He is 30 1/2 inches long (55th %), and his head circumference is 19 inches (80th %).  No shocker there.  Everything went well.  He didn't enjoy getting his ear wax cleaned out, the shots, or the finger prick.  He did enjoy running in circles around the tiny room we were stuck in for ever though.  We are going to start weaning him from his pacifier.  We'll see how that goes...

15 Month Update

Brody turned 15 months old on Saturday.  It has been so long since I have posted.  Now that conferences are over, I can finally update you on our little man.  Brody is on the go non-stop now.  He gives kisses, high fives, waves bye, loves to read books, plays peek a boo with blankets, curtains, you name it, attempts to stand on his head (then looks upside down at you from between his legs), spins in circles, drops things and says "uh oh", cuddles with Caesar, and dances to name a few.  Brody also will go get something that you ask for, like a book or toy.  He also loves to help with laundry by bringing you hangers.  He is still into computers and remotes.  He carries around his little laptop just like Travis and Josh.  It is pretty cute.  The picture above is Brody hard at work in the computer chair.

Brody's vocabulary is also becoming more developed by the week.  Some words he says include:  mama, dada, kitty, cheese, drink, hi, dirty, nana, uh-oh, hot dog, okay, and Brianna (which is our babysitter's daughter).  I'm sure I'm forgetting some.  I had Friday off and Travis took the day off, so we spent it at the zoo.  Brody was a lot more attentive to the exhibits this time around.  He loved the aquarium and the jungle.  When we went to the cat complex to see the tigers, Brody said "kitty" when he saw them.  It was adorable!

We have his 15 month well baby check up tomorrow morning, so I will update about that later.  Enjoy the pictures!

In a good mood for once while I get dressed for the day.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!  It was not a fun day for Mom as I had conferences on the 17th and 18th.  Travis, Josh, and Brody spent some quality time together celebrating while I was stuck at work until 8:00.

Caught in the act!

Look at what I did mom and dad!

Hanging around.

We took Brody out in the backyard on Saturday.  We are trying to get him more used to walking on grass.  He practically runs inside, but for some reason, the uneven ground scares him.  Finally after a few attempts, we were able to get him to walk around in the yard.

I am 15 months old today!

Wheee!

Again daddy!

After Brody finally got comfortable walking, we got out his tractor.  He had fun pushing and riding it around the yard.

Finally got the picture!

So Audrie pointed out that I didn't have an "after" picture of Brody's new haircut.  I told her it was pretty difficult to snap still pictures of him anymore.  Well, we succeeded, and here they are along with a few extras.  Enjoy!

My new favorite place to hang out.  In the gatorade box.

Brody was having a really tough day.  He was overly tired, so we put him in his crib to fall asleep.  He cried for about 5 minutes, and when we went to check on him, he had fallen asleep like this.  It was so funny!  We were able to move him without him waking up.  Whoosh!

Brody finally figured out how to rock by himself on his giraffe!

14 Month Update!

Brody is 14 months old today.  To celebrate, he got his first haircut!  Travis came with me because I wasn't sure how he'd react.  He did so well!  He sat on my lap and was very patient.  We were very proud of him!
Brody is finally 20 pounds.  We are in awe at his new tricks.  He now says a few words: dada, mama, kitty, what's that, all done, nona, uh-oh, and hi.  His newest favorite activity is to go get a book from his basket and bring it to us.  He loves to be read to.  My determination to read to him daily is finally paying off.  He is also getting really fast.  He practically runs around the house.  Brody enjoys waving bye bye and still enjoys all things technological.  Enjoy the latest pictures!

Here I come!  Watch me go!

Here I am trying out my new 2nd car seat.

I love listening to music on daddy's laptop.

We spent Valentine's Day hanging out at home.  Brody got to play in the snow for the first time.

I love my Valentine's puppy that sings to me!

Thanks for the new tools Uncle Ryan and Aunt Audrie!

News

We had an appointment with an allergy doctor on Thursday.  We went to find out if the blood test that pointed to a possible milk, peanut, and egg allergy was correct.  The allergist wasn't concerned, so we get to go back to whole milk for Brody.  Still no peanuts though, just in case.  Hopefully the whole milk will help him gain some weight.  He just hit 20 pounds finally.

The allergist said that Brody's wheezing and coughing could possibly be signs of asthmatic tendencies.  It is too early to tell, so we just have to keep using the inhaler when he is wheezing or coughing.  He does this pretty regularly with every cold he gets.  Hopefully he will grow out of it.
